The iconic house that stood on the corner of Wattle Road and View Road, is no more. The house that every West Aucklander seemed to know, that housed the strange old bearded man, with no glass in the windows and a couple of old cars peeking out from the over grown grass, has been eaten by the might of hydraulics and steel.
