Another image from the hot air ballooning archive.
A gentle game of (many at once!) One Day Cricket in the Auckland domain.
My new home........KINGSLAND.......on the fringe of Auckland City.
As the big move is occuring tommorrow, this may be my last post for a few days (Your poor little possums!) as we sort out internet at the new place, but don't worry, I will back date the posts as soon as we're back in buisness.
After yesterdays experience, it would be rude not to show an image of the flight. This 1000 feet above the Northern Motorway near Silverdale at 7am. Superb!
As a birthday experience for my Dad, the family took flight in an early morning hot air ballooning adventure. What a great experience, quiet unlike anything I've ever experienced before. If your in the Auckland area, look up 'Balloon Safaris', for some very hospitable and friendly people.
Isn't it weird how weird people come up with weird ideas for weird billboards!
The daunting task of driving home after the first long weekend in 5 months. Drive safely!
Looking west across Herne Bay from Westhaven Marina.
It's all a bit geeky, but in anticipation of the move, we have become wireless.
THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY, and the long weekend awaits........
Well it's raining again, thankfully before the long weekend.
Some days you just see something and go SH*T. This one of those days. To a non car fanatic, it's a bit of oh hum, but this is just Ooooo......! to everyone else. NICE!!!
Keeping in theme with taxi's, another through the busy streets of Cairo. Not much else to report apart from trying to throw out a lot of crap before I move!
Well it's official. Another page is turning and with that so is the Burnley experience. In 2 weeks time, the flat that I grew to love is disbanding and moving onto other pastures. Adios amigos. 'sniff'
After what seems like tonnes of water falling from the sky, we have broken the shackles into some simply stunning sunshine. Hallelujah!!!
Something out of the Lord of the rings? A rather knarly example of the amazing pohutukawa, Metrosiderous excelsa.
Taxi ride in Amman, Jordan.
A tropical paradise in amongst the maddening metropolis. Also, I heard the first Cicada of the season today and whilst digging around in the garden, a few more emerging from hibernation.
This image goes out to an old flatmate, Petr, now living in the Czech Republic. Elizabeth St, Mt Eden. The old place looks a lot different to the old rundown, overgrown shack of old. Good luck with all fulla.
I'm shattered. That is all!!! Oh, image is of a ship coming towards me at pace. As you were!!
Best wishes to one of my best buddies. 35 today. Happy birthday bro!!!
Bathurst 2005. Craig Lowndes taken out by a rouge (Holden) tyre hitting his windscreen and Greg Murphy (above and Holden) shunting Marcus Ambrose with 20 laps to go out of the race. Seems to be some sort of conspiracy against Ford winning!!!!
For some silly reason, I bet somebody, I could drink 24 bottles of Heinekin in 12 hours. Seems like a simple thing to do, 2 an hour. Finished with 10mins to spare feeling bloody aweful! The things we do, Cheers!!!
Never in my life have I seen such destructive force as I did here. Massive crushers, slicers, claws and electromagnetic devices that lift slice and dice huge wads of steel. Something to just sit back, watch and go HOLLY SH......!!!!
Just when I thought it was time to hang up the gumboots, leggings and raincoat, mother nature thinks that maybe we need a little bit more aqua to keep us going!
I've been honoured to hug a very precious piece of New Zealand history. This mighty lump of wood is the last remaining, privately owned chunk of the lone pine that stood atop One Tree Hill. Soon to be at home at our new work HQ in Ellerslie.
After what must be the strangest and interesting last three days, I thought why not post something a little different so I've found a couple of video files that are fairly strange and interesting. First a bike (1.4MB) stunt going wrong, bloody funny cos it's not me, and a bit of street jumping come martial arts (6.6MB). Enjoy!
With the official return of daylight saving, life now seems so much brighter in the evenings. All be it a little more difficult to get those lazy bones out of bed that extra hour earlier. Hooraa!!
It seems the Burnley experience is coming to an end. 2/5ths of the flat have purchased their dream home. Congratulations to that. So in the next month we shall be turning out the light that has been shining for almost 2 years.......'sniff'......Bon voyage!
Golly, it only seems like this morning I greeted Spring and the new month of September, then all of a sudden, I'm blindsided by October. WHAT THE....? It's been a day dedicated to the couch after some long island ice teas got the better of me and my memory last night! Thank goodness for The Family Guy and back to back Simpsons on Sky!
